Bele Bele Rhythm Collective (Performer)
The Bele Bele Rhythm Collective is a women-led, intergenerational, diverse group of African drummers and students from DC and surrounding areas. The group was founded in 2008 by Kristen Arant, and has grown since then. The Rhythm Collective performs compositions of polyrhythms on dun-uns and djembes, alongside dancing. Their debut album was recorded by Kristen Arant and the Bele Bele Rhythm Collective in 2016 under the title “Roots”, a celebration of West-African drumming and
