Jessica “Culture Queen” Smith is an award-winning children’s performer, educator, playwright, curator, and arts leader dedicated to creating joyful, culturally affirming experiences for young people and families. She is the founder of Culture Kingdom Kids, producing interactive Black history-centered performances and programs nationwide.


Her work has been featured at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, National Children’s Museum, and Reginald F. Lewis Museum, among many others. Jessica is also the creator of I Like the Me I See!, the viral Kwanzaa Slide, and the TED-Ed film Mansa Musa: One of the Wealthiest People Who Ever Lived, which has reached millions of viewers. Her arts leadership has included roles with Arts for Learning Maryland, Motor House, and the Prince George’s African American Museum.
